Addicted to typography, Stephan seeks new and interesting ways of using fonts within large spaces. He enjoys the strange negative spaces between blocks of texts and the use of enormous headline fonts.
This love of crazy type-form dates back to the 1970s and his affinity for the typeface, Avant Garde. As a hobby outside of his day to day working duties Stephan likes handcrafting t-shirts or making music. These activities help him to meditate on creative thinking and his pursuit for enlightened design.
As of late he has been spending a considerable amount of time in web design cleaning up crazy css code, weird html or falling in love with the ocean.
Stephan was born in Germany in 1976. He now lives in Hannover.
Currently employed at H | G | B: a firm that specializes in exhibition design and conception.
He has worked for: Konsum-Grafik, Oldenburg/Germany and gardyneHOLT (former “Pigs Do Fly”), Auckland/New Zealand.
He studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Hildesheim, Germany and at the University of Wisconsin Stout in Menomonie, USA.
